Senior Project Manager - Olympic Dam

Our client is a leading Australian engineering and project delivery company operating primarily in the Mining and Minerals, Hydrocarbons, Infrastructure and Specialist industries. They offer solutions for Brownfield and Greenfield projects from conceptual design to operations, and asset managemen t and completion services.

Due to growth, development and project demands, they are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their operation at Olympic Dam. The role of the Senior Project Manager will include, but not be limited to;

• To provide strong HSEC leadership
• To plan, co-ordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of assigned projects within safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• To ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded.
• To ensure a full understanding of the Project scope and deliverables
• To provide site support to all employees working in Olympic Dam and be accountable for overall project outcomes
• Portfolio project management for projects at Olympic Dam.
• To generate leads, referrals and build business opportunities within Olympic Dam

Applicants will need to have previous experience managing EPCM project delivery and it is essential that you have a good understanding of business support and project controls such as project planning packages, cost management systems, ISO9001 quality management systems.

In order to be successful, candidates will need to have;

• Minimum of 10 year’s experience in Senior Project Engineer or Project Management
• Experience with Business Development and an ability to chase potential leads
• A strong technical background in Engineering and it is preferable that you are a Charters Engineer
• A high level of experience in the Hydrocarbon or Mining industry
• Strong communication skills
• Well developed commercial acumen
• Australian Experience

You will need to have well developed ability to engage with engineers, clients and contractors and you will be required to have a strong technical background. This is a very senior role with a high level of responsibility and we are looking for someone with a highly proactive approach and a good team player.
